Two years later
A recent visit to La Rochelle in France left a lasting impression. The harbour, the atmosphere and the warmth of the people made it clear why this coastal city has become such an important hub within the maritime world. The blend of heritage, innovation and working marina energy creates something genuinely special. It is a place we look forward to revisiting, both personally and professionally, as part of our continued connection with coastal communities across Europe.
Halfway Between the Horizon and the Stars
Valletta has a presence that stays with you. Approaching the marina for the first time, the honey coloured limestone walls rise dramatically from the water, reminding you that this is not just another Mediterranean stopover. It is history, architecture and maritime heritage woven into one remarkable skyline.
A few years ago, we spent time exploring the marina and the surrounding city. The superyachts resting against centuries old fortifications create a striking contrast between old world grandeur and modern engineering. Cafés spill onto cobbled streets, conversations drift across the harbour, and every corner seems to tell a story of trade, travel and ambition.
Valletta is more than a picturesque port. It is a meeting point between continents, cultures and ideas. We left inspired by its energy and quietly confident maritime spirit. One day soon, we hope to return, and rediscover that feeling of being suspended somewhere between the horizon and the stars.

The Harbour Peer Series is an annual summer gathering for a curated group of Founders, Directors and CEOs, designed to foster meaningful peer-to-peer connection in a refined waterfront setting. Blending premium hospitality with intelligent conversation, this invitation-only experience forms part of the wider Directors Hub calendar. Held this year in Brighton in the UK.
