Repair Rather Than Replace for Yacht Interiors

Weingarth Customs specialises in yacht interior repairs and surface protection. The company started over 15 years ago when Chris Weingarth moved from luxury home fabrication in Upstate New York into yacht restoration in South Florida. He saw owners replacing large interior sections for small areas of damage and knew there was a better way.

The company focuses on a repair rather than replace approach. This method is less invasive, more cost-effective and much faster than full replacement. Typical work includes repairing chips, scratches and screw holes across wood, painted, laminate and composite surfaces.

The team also protects the areas they repair. They are trained to apply XPEL Marine Paint Protection Film to high-wear surfaces. These include walls, countertops, marble bars, vanity tops, coffee tables, dining tables and exterior bar areas. The film also protects surfaces from shore power cables and hoses.

We saw a need to protect surfaces we repair often onboard. The team is trained in the application of XPEL Marine Paint Protection Film (PPF).  We apply PPF to walls, countertops, edges, marble bars and vanity tops, coffee tables, dining tables, exterior bars and tables, and high-wear areas from shore power cords and hoses.  We are also trained in XPEL Marine Ceramic Coating, which we apply on top of the PPF for an added layer of protection.  

PPF and Ceramic Coating Protective Services complement the touch-up repairs we offer at Weingarth Customs, providing an additional layer of protection to preserve the beauty and integrity of every yacht we service.

The team can also apply XPEL Marine Ceramic Coating on top of the film. This adds another layer of protection and helps preserve the finish for longer. Together, these services help owners keep their yacht interiors in excellent condition.
